The Radicalisation Of White Teenage Boys

19/08/2019

In the ever expanding internet age, you can access information about virtually anything through the World Wide Web.

Joanna Schroeder, a Los Angeles-based writer, media critic and mother of three, has tweeted about the risk white boys in America face from online radicalisation.

The scourge of white supremacist extremists is spreading across the USA, with murderous consequences, and also in the UK and other countries. Lots of the mass shooters in America have been young, white and male. This includes the racist murderer that killed 22 people in the El Paso shooting in Texas.

The attack in Dayton, just hours later, was also spurred on by a violent ideology, and would have led to far more deaths but for the quick action of the local police.

It is incredibly important that this sort of radicalisation is challenged; that the youth are protected from the evil menace of extremism.

There is no time to waste.

Every day, twisted individuals are continuing to spread their hatred and plant the seeds of fear and mistrust in the minds of the young and the vulnerable.  This not only increases the risk of radicalisation of our youth, but then also the safety of innocent lives.

Lessons on tolerance and inclusion are needed for our young people, but also for others within society. It is time to stop the hating and move to a society where we not only accept those who are different from us, but celebrate the diversity in our communities.
