Boris Johnson has long coveted the position of UK Prime Minister. He lied and cheated; betrayed his previously known beliefs, his family and the UK electorate in order to gradually claw his way into Downing Street as a resident, rather than a visitor.
And now, having taken his slippers (and now a dog) into No. 10, he shows no reluctance in continuing to deceive not just the electorate, but parliament too.
This evening, I've had a look back through online records trying to ascertain whether any previous UK Prime Minister has had a worse start to their premiership.
Boris Johnson has now lost his first three (now four) votes in the House of Commons; something that (as far as I can tell) no previous Prime Minister has suffered.
No matter what rubbish he spouts about the referendum he won with lies, misinformation and illegal activity, the fact remains that parliament is (as it always was) sovereign and it is ding exactly what it was always supposed to do; act in the best interests of the British people.
It would appear to now be important that Johnson is forced to stay in the post of Prime Minister (apparently against his wishes) until this incredible mess has been properly handled.
He has lied and cheated his way into Downing Street and should be made to face up to the consequences of what he has done. He should not be able to cause more mayhem and just walk away.
We are currently, thankfully, looking at a situation whereby a no-deal Brexit has been avoided. This hope / view may actually be a bit premature, as there is still time for Johnson to try and manipulate a situation whereby he might be able to force through his self-serving ambitions to wreck the UK and claim a place in the UK history books.
Boris is still, as I write this, resident in one of the UK's most famous institutions (No. 10 Downing Street). However, he should clearly be residing in a completely different type of institution; such as those inhabited by other criminals; Her Majesty's Prisons.
The sooner we are rid of this 'Trump wannabe' the better.
